Bogor City Government Finds 913 Troubled Registrants, 155 Prospective Students Disqualified
BOGOR - The issue of using fake population data used by New Student Admissions (PPDB) registrants through the zoning route at schools in Bogor City is entering a new chapter.
Most recently, the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, admitted that he received a report from the Special Team, there were 913 registrants of PPDB SMPN in Bogor City who were indicated to be problematic, or registered for school using fake population data.
This was revealed by Bima Arya when holding a press statement regarding PPDB on the terrace of the Bogor City Hall on Sunday, July 9.
"So I asked for a report from the PPDB verification team, led by Mr. Irwan (Assistant Government), it was reported that there were 913 registrants who had indications of problems", said Bima Arya.
"And currently, 763 factual verifications have been carried out in the field, so there are still around 150 more who are still on progress", he continued.
According to Bima Arya, of the 913 registrants of PPDB SMPN in Bogor City, 155 people have been verified using fake data.
"From that number so far, 155 (people) are not appropriate. This means that the name of the person concerned was not found at the location he visited", said Bima Arya.
Even so, Bima Arya believes, the factual verification process for PPDB registrants will continue for the next two days, so that it will still allow the number to increase.
"Of course we will continue this until the last day, because we have postponed it until Tuesday (the announcement of student admissions through the zoning route). So there are still 2 days to continue this", added Bima Arya.
"And later the names of the registrants who have been proven not to have their names found in the field, in the domicile registered, the names will be issued", he continued.
"Once again, the name will be issued from PPDB registration. Automatically the name below will go up. And we will announce it to SMP on Tuesday, July 11, 2023", said Bima Arya.
On this occasion, Bima Arya also asked the public to continue to submit all the data, in the event of an indication of manipulation of the Bogor City Government complaint number.
"We open opportunities from residents to provide input. And later if (the PPDB participants cheat) qualify to become students, the names suspected of having problems will be followed up by the team, and then they are very likely to be disqualified in accordance with our authority for the junior high school level", said Bima Arya.
Previously, the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) officially postponed the announcement of New Student Admissions (PPDB) at the SMPN level in Bogor City.
