The Joint Team Formed By Yasonna To Straighten The Polemic On Harun Masiku's Arrival

JAKARTA - The suspect in the case of alleged interim replacement bribery (PAW) for a member of the House of Representatives (DPR), Harun Masiku, was proven to be at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday, January 7.

This evidence was found by a joint team formed by Menkumham Yasonna Laoly, which consists of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Bareskrim Polri, National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

The screen capture image from CCTV footage of Soekarno-Hatta Airport's 2F terminal is one of the evidences shown. This information also corrects the statement of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasona Laoly regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku.

This difference in information occurred due to delays in sending data on the Harun Masiku crossing due to negligence in the uniform resource locator (URL) configuration when upgrading the SIMKIM (Immigration Management Information System) system on December 23, 2019.

Head of the Investigation and Enforcement Section of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Syofian Kurniawan said that this error had an impact on the delay in sending data on the PC crossing of the Terminal 2F Soekarno-Hatta Airport counter to the Immigration Data Center (Pusdakim) server of the Directorate General of Immigration.

"This happened because the vendor forgot to synchronize or connect the crossing data on the PC counter at Soetta Airport Terminal 2F with the local server at Soetta Airport and so on, the server at the Pusdakim Directorate General of Immigration," said Syofian in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 19.

With this error, Harun Masiku was not the only one who was not detected when he arrived at Terminal 2F at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. A total of 120,661 data on the crossing of people were not sent from 23 December 2019 to 10 January 2020.

However, Syofian said that he did not plan to impose sanctions due to this negligence. Because he said, that was not the authority of the joint team. "That is the domain of the minister," he said.

Syofian did not answer firmly when he was asked if the perpetrators of the two-week crossing of data could possibly be exploited.

"Regarding this concern, the team was unable to convey information and authority to the Minister," he said.

The case started on Wednesday, January 8. The KPK named four people as suspects in a bribery case related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the 2019-2024 DPR RI during the election. The four are PDIP candidate Harun Masiku; KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan; former Bawaslu member as well as Wahyu's confidant; Agustiani Tio Fridelina; and Saeful who is a private party.

Among the four suspects, only Harun Masiku has not yet surrendered to the KPK. According to the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Harun left Indonesia and went to Singapore on January 6, or two days before the KPK's silent operation.

It's just that, recently the immigration authorities corrected the statement. The Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ronny Sompie, was removed from his position, because he reported that Harun was back in Indonesia. Harun entered Indonesia on January 7 or the day before the KPK OTT took place and it is not known where his whereabouts.
