Two Shrimp Pond Business Units In Batam Sealed By KKP
The Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has sealed two shrimp cultivation business units belonging to PT DMMP with an area of 9.2 hectares, and PT TSJU on an area of 9 hectares, in Batam, Riau Islands.
"This is a step of our commitment to law enforcement in the marine and fisheries sector, especially for business actors who violate applicable regulations," said PSDKP Director General Adin Nurawaluddin in his official statement, Sunday, July 9.
Adin said that the violations that occurred in the two shrimp cultivation efforts were that they did not have documents on Good Fish Cultivation (CBIB) methods and did not apply the specified CBIB rules.
Through the implementation of CBIB, the products produced have provided quality and safety guarantees for fishery products cultivated.
He also asked the two companies to improve licensing by uploading a business scale in the Business Identification Number (NIB) according to the facts and coordinating with the Batam City Fisheries Service and the Batam Marine Power Fisheries Center (BPBL).
Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sudin, said that compliance supervision must continue to be carried out by the Directorate General of PSDKP while waiting for the granting of the CBIB document.

For information, in May 2023, the KKP through the Directorate General of PSDKP together with 59 vaname shrimp cultivation actors signed a commitment to fulfill the basic licensing for fish cultivation in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as fulfillment of standard certificates according to the level of business risk categorized in Government Regulation (PP) No. 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing in Batam.
