Already Deposited Rp90 Million, Man In Tangerang Affected By Scavengers Of Government Projects
TANGERANG - Tangerang Police arrested a man with the initials MYM (33), a resident of Unyur Village, Serang City for a criminal act of fraud by promising his victim to receive a government project.
Balaraja Police Chief AKP Badri Hasan explained that the suspect was suspected of defrauding the victim with the initials MS (32), a man, a resident of Tobat Village, Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency. The fraud was carried out in mid-September 2022 to November 2022. As a result of the fraud, the victim suffered a total loss of Rp90 million.
"The victim gave the suspect several times the total amount of Rp90 million because he was interested in the suspect's promise to project the victim," said Badri.
Badri continued, the reason the suspect asked the victim for money was to take care of the project administration. However, until the end of 2022, the promised project did not exist. The victim began to urge the suspect to return the money.
In February 2023, the suspect made a statement which essentially contained that the suspect could not provide a project to the victim. The suspect also stated in the statement that the promise to provide the project was only a trick of the suspect getting money.
