Vice President Asks For Passport Data Security Amid News Of Leaked 34 Million Indonesian Citizen Data
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked relevant agencies to immediately secure passport data, following reports of the alleged leak of 34 million Indonesian citizen passport data on the internet.
"We hope that all agencies will provide security against the possibility of the leak," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.
The vice president also stated that data hacking cases were a global issue that occurred not only in Indonesia.
Ma'ruf Amin also requested that a more detailed and detailed investigation of the hacking case be carried out so that the source can be known and dealt with according to applicable regulations.
"I think there is already a government policy related to this. Therefore, when there is a leak, we will investigate where the source of the leak is," he explained.

The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) together with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) are currently in the process of assisting in handling incidents for alleged passport data leaks of 34 million belonging to Indonesian citizens (WNI).
This is part of the coordination that has been carried out by BSSN with related parties including the National Data Center team of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), the Directorate of Government Information Application Services (LAIP) of the Ministry of Communication and Information, CSIRT Kemenkumham, Pusdatin Kemenkumham, and the Directorate General of Immigration.
