SAR Team Deploys Divers Looking For Missing Itera Students On The West Coast
The joint Searchand Rescue (SAR) team deployed divers looking for students from the Sumatra Institute of Technology (Itera) who were lost in the waves while swimming at Kerbang Dalam Village Beach, North Coast District, West Coast Regency, Lampung.
"The search is still ongoing using ships and reliable divers from the Indonesian Navy, Polairud and Basarnas," said Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Hermansyah as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.
Until now, the search for missing victims is still being carried out by deploying several joint teams.
"We from BPBD TNI police, fishermen around, are still trying to find the missing students," he said.
However, he said, the search for victims was often hampered by bad weather such as strong winds, high waves or large waves and others.

The incident began when the victim and his colleague and teenager Pekon Kerbang played football on the beach on Wednesday (05/7) afternoon.
Then around 16.00 WIB the victim and his partner took a bath on the beach after playing the ball, immediately a big wave came. The victim was swept away by the current and lost by the waves, while the others managed to survive to the mainland.
