Hand Grenade Found In Cikapundung River, Bandung, Owner Still Mysterious
JAKARTA - The West Java Police Mobile Brigade Gegana Team evacuated a grenade that was allegedly still active, found by a cleaning officer.
A grenade was found while a cleaning officer was cleaning a culvert near Cikapundung Kolot River, Bandung City, West Java, Wednesday, January 27.
The Head of Batununggal Police, Inspector (Iptu) Muryadi, said that the grenade had been taken by related officers. Around the location, a police line has also been set.
"Taken by Bomb Defuser Division for disposal, later taken to Cikeruh (West Java Police Mobile Brigade headquarters)," said Muryadi as quoted by Antara.
The police cannot confirm whether the grenade is active or not. So, said Muryadi, his party was still waiting for the development of the bomb disposal team.
"So far there is no suspicion where the grenades came from," said Muryadi.
Meanwhile, the Village Supervisory Non-Commissioned Officers of Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI Babinsa) member, First Sergeant (Sertu) Teguh, said that when the grenade was found, it still had a ring. So it should be suspected that the grenade is still active and has explosive power.
"This grenade is still active. There is still a ring," said Teguh.
