The Prosecutor's Office Names 2 Obstruction Of Justice Suspects In The Oil Palm Exchange Case In South Kalimantan

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - The Barito Kuala District Attorney (Kejari) has named two suspects who hindered the investigation or obstruction of justice in the case of exchanging oil palm land in Pondok Kanan Village, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

"The suspects with the initials P and D are actively obstructing a legal process, either directly or indirectly," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Barito Prosecutor's Office, Kuala Mohammad Hamidun Noor, in Marabahan, Thursday, July 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

The act of obstructing a legal process is regulated in Article 221 of the Criminal Code which is threatened with a maximum imprisonment of nine months or a maximum fine of four thousand five hundred rupiahs.

Hamidun said the prosecutor's office was still investigating the oil palm exchange case in Pondok Kanan Village, Wanaraya District, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan. A number of people have been questioned, including the NGO chairman with the initials A, who is a witness.

"Later, if there are further developments, we will definitely convey it again," he explained.

Regarding the mass action that supported the investigation of this case in front of the Barito Kuala Kejari on Thursday, July 6, Hamidun expressed his gratitude.

"This community support is our spirit to always be upright in upholding the rule of law," he said.

Then he also conveyed that the palm oil farmer group Pondok Kanan Village has collaborated with the Prosperous Fair BUMDes and received a work agreement (SPK) from the company to manage oil palm land so as to benefit and create a healthy investment climate and prosper oil palm farmers and residents.

"So in law enforcement, we not only focus on the crime but hope to help restore the economy of the local community," he said.
