Successfully Reducing Stunting In Central Java, PKK Chairman Atikoh Received An Award From BKKBN
PALEMBANG - Chairman of PKK Siti Atikoh Ganjar Pranowo received an award from the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) for being considered successful in reducing the number of stunting cases in Central Java (Central Java). Atikoh's role in activating Central Java PKK fosters families and assists mothers, as well as reducing stunting to only 11.9 percent in 2022 based on electronic calculations - Recording and Reporting Community-Based Nutrition (ePPGBM).
PKK also succeeded in Central Java's flagship program in reducing stunting and AKI-AKB. Among other things, through the Central Java Gayeng Nginceng Wong Meteng (5Ng) program and Jo Kawin Anak.
The role of the Central Java PKK in reducing stunting received appreciation from the Indonesian BKKBN at the 30th National Family Day (Harganas) Galanner event, Tuesday night, July 4, at Puri Agung, South Sumatra Governor's Office House. Atikoh as Chair of the Central Java PKK TP received the Manggala Karya Kencana (MKK) award.
At the event which was attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, the Head of BKKBN RI Hasto Wardoyo said mental health was also the government's homework in addition to stunting issues.
Mmental emotional disorder which increased to 9.8 percent is our homework. Heavy mental disorders that increased from 1.7 to 7/1000 are also our homework," said Hasto in his remarks.
Related to that, Atikoh emphasized that Central Java is committed to anticipating this. In line with the handling of stunting, said Atikoh, building a healthy human resource (HR) is one unit of mental health. This has been the focus of Central Java PKK through a number of activities.
"So the hope is that physical development, namely reducing stunting and the quality of human resources physically, will also be accompanied by improving mental quality," said the wife of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo.
Family is the main target so that the mission can be successful. This is because the family is the smallest institution in a community.
Atikoh said, to form human resources with good mental quality, it is necessary to pay attention from an early age. Especially for young men and women, which must be provided with an understanding of health. Be it nutrition, reproductive health and mentally.
"So that later when they are married they are really ready. Then for the formation of when in the PKK, it is through posyandu, the development of the family of their toddlers, starting from the first thousand days of human life, it must really be considered both in terms of character and the nutritional side," said Atikoh.
