State Budget Examined By BPK, Sri Mulyani: Momentum For Digitalization Of Financial Statements
Jakarta - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani supports the efforts of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to conduct audits of the 2020 State General Treasurer (LKBUN) Financial Statements while adhering to health protocols during the pandemic.
"We encourage all related units within the scope of the BUN budget to digitize financial management documents and state financial responsibility which will become source documents or supporting documents in the 2020 LKBUN examination," he said as quoted on the official website, Wednesday, January 27.
The minister hopes that the audit process can be properly maintained according to the auditing standards of state finances and the predetermined schedule. The COVID-19 pandemic is not an obstacle in preparing financial reports and audits.
"We would like to convey our high appreciation to the BPK for their excellent cooperation in the audit process which has been getting better and more communicative with the discussion of the concept of the results of the examination and the concept of recommendations," he said.
The examination process of the State General Treasurer Financial Statements itself is scheduled to last for several months, namely from January to May.
"The Ministry of Finance hopes that the good communication between the government and the BPK that has been established so far can be maintained and maintained for the smoothness of the audit process and efforts to improve the quality of government financial reports," Sri Mulyani concluded.
For information, the performance of the State Budget as a countercyclical tool to respond to the impact of the pandemic by the end of 2020 is claimed to be quite under control while maintaining the deficit below the Presidential Decree 72/2020 target, which is IDR 956.3 trillion (6.09 percent of GDP).
Meeting the budget deficit needs and to support the implementation of the PEN program, the government manages budget financing by strengthening synergies with Bank Indonesia (BI). Realization of budget financing in 2020 was recorded at Rp1,190.9 trillion, mainly sourced from debt financing which reached Rp1,226.8 trillion.
