Verified Meta Service Will Be Expanded Globally In The Next Months

JAKARTA - In February, Meta officially announced the launch of a verification blue tick subscription for Instagram and Facebook. However, at that time the company was still conducting trials in the United States (US).

The following month, Meta announced again that it was expanding the phase of a trial of a blue tick subscription to the UK.

After getting a positive response from users during the trial period, the tech giant owned by Mark Zuckerberg finally decided to launch its verification subscription to more countries in the future.

The news of the expansion was conveyed directly by the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri in his broadcast channel on Instagram.

"Meta Verified will develop globally in the coming months. We have heard positive feedback from creators in our preliminary tests and continue to gather input on what is most valuable to customers," he said in the announcement.

This Meta or Meta Verified verification subscription feature is a blue tick service or a paid verification badge for Facebook and Instagram users.

This new service is Mark Zuckerberg's attempt to monetize two social media platforms that address Meta Platform Inc. In detail, this service is similar to Twitter Blue, which was launched earlier by Twitter boss Elon Musk.

The subscription price may be different in each country. In the UK, users are charged 9.99 pounds, equivalent to IDR 185 thousand per month. Meanwhile, in the US, users are also charged a fee of 12 to 15 US dollars (IDR 179 224 thousand) every month.
