Volvo Will Use Tesla Supercharging For BEV Starting In 2025
JAKARTA - Because it has cutting-edge technology in charging for electric-powered cars, several manufacturers have started queuing up for their future cars to gain access to Tesla's Supercharger.
Some time ago, manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors (GM), and Rivian have agreed to cooperate with Tesla so that their cars can access Supercharging in the future.
Recently, another manufacturer will officially gain access to the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS), namely Volvo Cars. This marks the first European manufacturer to collaborate with Tesla for the charging connector.
Reported on the InsideEV page, Tuesday, June 27, according to Volvo, Tesla will open a Tesla Supercharging network of 12,000 stations consisting of more than 2,000 locations for all EV Volvo cars starting in the first half of 2024.
However, for Volvo cars such as XC40, C40 Recharge, XC30, and XC90, which still use the Combined Charging System (CCS1) system, they must use an adapter if they want to use NACS.
If the first model appears in 2025, then the adapter to connect to the NACS is not needed.
Salah satu aspek yang penting dalam perjanjian Volvo dengan Tesla adalah pabrkan asal Sweden tersebut bertujuan untuk memasukkan jaringan Supercharging ke sistem perangkat softwarenya.

It's no surprise that Volvo wants to take the Tesla Supercharging system. What's more, the company determines that by 2030, they will present the latest electric-powered model.
"Today, with this agreement, we are taking great steps to remove this threshold for Volvo drivers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico," said Volvo CEO Jim Argentan.
