Liga 1 Audience Capacity 2023/2024 100 Percent, Yes But
JAKARTA - President Director (Managing Director) of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus ensured that the 2023/2024 League 1 competition could be attended by 100 percent of the audience's capacity. However, the policy will change during the campaign season.
Ferry Paulus said the audience capacity of 100 percent could be applied at the start of the season until the 16th week. However, after that the capacity was limited to 50 percent in line with the entry of the 2024 general election campaign season.
"Earlier, friends of the club asked whether it is true that the audience of Liga 1 2023/2024 can only be filled with 50 percent? That was only during the campaign, that precisely after the determination of the list of candidates (presidents and vice presidents) at the end of October," explained Ferry Paulus during a press conference for the launch of Liga 1 Season 2023/2014 in the Central Jakarta area, Monday 26 June.
"So, starting from the first kick-off to the 16th week, it is still (can be attended by spectators) 100 percent," he said.
Previously, the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir explained, the capacity of 100 percent of the audience for the 2023/2024 season only applies to supporters of the home team. Meanwhile, the visitors' supporters are prohibited from watching the match in person.
A similar statement was also made by Ferry Paulus who said that the 100 percent audience capacity was only for the host team supporters. However, in the future PT LIB will conduct another evaluation after the campaign period is over.
"One hundred percent can be for all matches but still for the host team (supporters) only. So 50 percent of the restrictions are during the campaign period, later we will evaluate again," he said.
The 2023/2024 competition season starts on Saturday, July 1, 2023. The match between Bali United and PSS Sleman at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, will be the opening match.
