Anticipating Election Disputes, KPU Hopes Voters Submit Detailed Data
JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia Hasyim Asy'ari hopes that notes and inputs from various parties regarding the issue of data irregularities in the preparation of a fixed voter list (DPT) of the 2024 Election will be submitted in detail to the Indonesian KPU. "We hope to be submitted to the KPU, then we sit down together between the KPU and those who provide notes," said Hasyim Asy'ari, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 22. After the records and inputs were received, continued Hasyim, the KPU will hold meetings with various related parties, such as the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and the Government representatives, to decide whether the records should be followed up or not. According to Hasyim, until now there are still a number of parties who have not provided detailed data regarding the problem of data irregularities in the preparation of the 2024 Election DPT. He gave an example that there were parties who found the identity of the population with one letter entered the voter list for the 2024 General Election, based on the matching and research (collite) voter data by voter data updating officers. However, the report was not submitted in detail regarding the owner of the name and residence. "Until now, the KPU has never received detailed data. For example, there is only one letter. Where is it? What is its name? That until now we have never received that information and it has not been submitted," said Hasyim. On the same occasion, on the same occasion, Indonesian KPU member Betty ESPilon Idroos said that his party found voters whose names only consisted of one, two, or three letters by showing photos of the identity cards of such voters. "How come there are people with one letter, two letters? Indeed, do we want to remove?" said Betty. He added other findings from the KPU, which are suspected to be strange data in the voter list, one of which is voter data over 100 years old.

"God willing, there will be no strange data in the DPS (temporary voter list), DPSHP (temporary voter list), and later increase it to DPT," said Betty.
