Here Are Tips To Wear Your Mask Correctly

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 pandemic has been running for more than one year so that health protocols are no longer an obligation but a new habit. Washing hands, wearing masks, and staying away from crowds have become people's lifestyle.

The government is again promoting 3M movement health protocol in line with the return of large-scale tightening of social restrictions (PSBB) to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia. In addition to maintaining physical distance, wearing a mask is a form of your concern for the health of your local community.

Here are some simple tips for wearing your mask correctly:

1. Start by choosing a good quality face mask. A good mask has a comfortable inner filter layer, and a nose clip that bends to make the mask shape onto the face easier.

2. Make sure the mask used is clean. Both cloth masks that can be used repeatedly or disposable health masks,

It is important to check its cleanliness and condition before wearing, if it is damaged then it is better to use a new one. For cloth masks, it is better to wear a mask that has just been washed or has never been used before.

3. Wash your hands before putting on the mask, and also wash your hands again when you take off the mask. When placing your hands near your face, it is very important to clean them. Wash your hands with soapy water for at least 20 seconds and dry them thoroughly. Use a hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

4. Make sure the mask covers the nose and mouth. Your face mask should cover your nose and mouth at all times for best results. Choose a mask that is comfortable for your face shape. Masks that are too large or too small will cause face mask protection to be less than optimal.

5. Try the following tips so that the glasses don't fog up when using a mask. After you attach the nose clip of the mask to your face, place the pads of your glasses on the very top of the mask so that your breath doesn't blur the glasses.

Or, wash your glasses in soapy water before wearing them - soap can leave an invisible film film that acts as a coating from fog.

6. Store the mask in a clean and dry place. Keep your spare mask in the wrapper and for a mask that can be reused, keep it in another place so it doesn't get wet or dirty. Don't forget to always apply 3M: Wear a mask, wash your hands, stay away from crowds when you are on the move outside.
