Garuda Indonesia Enters Forbes Global 2000 As The Leading Company In The World
JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk ("Garuda") has successfully entered the Forbes Global 2000 rankings, which is a list of public company rankings with promising corporate performance.
Garuda managed to rank 1572 and became the only national transportation company to be included in the list of global rankings.
The ranking by Forbes magazine was officially announced on Saturday, June 10 and was based on four main metrics, namely sales, profit, assets, and market value. The data used in the rating refers to the company's financial statements over the past 12 months, which are available until May 5, 2023.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said, "The presence of Garuda Indonesia in this ranking list is an acknowledgment for us at Garuda Indonesia, especially in efforts to transform performance that we continue to do after completing the restructuring process."
"This is also a separate optimism for the performance outlook of the Company in the future, we will continue to optimize it with performance facilities that continue to show positive performance", explained Irfan, in a release received by VOI.

In 2022, Garuda managed to record a operating profit of US$3.7 billion, one of which was the book profit generated from the restructuring process. In addition, Garuda Indonesia's profit in 2022 was also influenced by the increase in performance achieved over the past year, with operating income of US$2.1 billion.
This figure has increased by about 57% compared to the previous year's achievement of 1.33 billion US dollars. Operating income from scheduled flights increased by 62.3%, followed by revenue from unscheduled flights which also recorded a significant increase of 98.5%.
"With the Company's increasingly healthy performance basis, the Company's continuous steps in maximizing performance growth will certainly continue to be carried out in 2023 in a measured and proportional manner, by maximizing profitability and increasing production equipment which is also aligned with diversification efforts and improving full-service flight services," concluded Irfan.
