JAKARTA - Kaspersky recently discovered malicious extensions to Chrome, Brave, and Opera browsers that allow threat actors to hide any transaction notifications sent to victims via this website to steal their crypto assets secretly.
In addition, the company also revealed that the initial infection of the campaign started with the ZIP archive file, which was downloaded from a website that appears to mimic software portals and allows users to download the desired software (frequently Cracked) for free.
"Criminals in cyberspace have stepped up extensions by adding the ability to control them through script changes. This means that they can easily start targeting other crypto assets," said Haim Zigel, malware analyst at Kaspersky.
