Children Of Sodomy Victims In Cianjur Given Trauma Therapy
The Cianjur Police together with the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) in Cianjur Regency, West Java, provide special assistance for victims of sodomy so as not to become the same perpetrators in the future.
Daily Chairperson of P2TP2A Cianjur Lidya Umar said that victims of sodomy would become the same perpetrators or sex predators in the future because the trauma they experienced was not treated completely.
"Sodomy victims must immediately undergo assistance and treatment from the trauma they experienced until they recovered 90 percent so they don't become perpetrators in the future," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.
Like the case that happened to a six-year-old boy in Cibeber District, he said, his party immediately gave the therapy stage by way the victim was given psychological treatment to relieve trauma and restore her original life.
But the most important thing, said Lidya, is that the environment where the victim lives must support healing by not bringing up the incident experienced by the victim, so that his party will also go directly to the victim's neighborhood so that residents can help relieve the victim's trauma.
"Residents in the neighborhood where the victim lives are asked not to bring up the incident that happened to him, including not making the victim an object of bullying in the eyes of friends of the age and local residents," he said.
Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Aszhari Kurniawan, said his party would deploy a special team to provide psychological assistance and treatment to victims of sodomy until they recovered as before and did not become predators in the future.

He asked residents, especially parents, to further increase supervision of children while playing in residential areas even because sex predators are usually known and close to victims.
