Set Record Again In Nurburgring, Tesla Model S Plaid Aligned With Ferrari Enzo

JAKARTA - Tesla again won a record as the fastest-time electric car holding the lap at the legendary circuit, Nurburgring Nordschleife with Model S Plaid beating the previous record held by Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

To conquer the iconic circuit, the preparations facing Tesla were no joke. They have provided a special package to improve car performance, namely the Track Package.

Reporting from InsideEV, Saturday, June 3, Track Packages provided for the Model S Plaid include aluminum Zero-G rims, 3R Supercar Goodyear tires, and carbon ceramic brake kits.

The carbon ceramic brakes consist of carbon-silicon carbide rotors, one-section Kaliper tempa with high performance pads, and a ready-to-use track-brake oil.

Unlike when setting the fastest lap record two years ago, Tesla presented the Model S Plaid with a round steering wheel which of course affected car control through 154 vicious bends in Nordschleife.

The Tesla Model S Plaid, which has been upgraded, managed to record a fastest time of 7:25,231, which is 8 seconds faster than what Porsche Taycan Turbo S achieved last year with 7 minutes 33 seconds.

Not only that, by adding some of the tunings from this Track Package makes the Model S Plaid 10 seconds faster when compared to Tesla's previous record in Nordschleife with the same car in 2021.

In addition, Tesla proved that the Model S Plaid became the fastest electric car with a top speed of up to 289 km/hour.

With this achievement at Nurburgring, the name Tesla Model S Plaid is now aligned with several legendary supercars such as Ferrari Enzo and Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series which make not much different time records.
