Golkar Throughout Indonesia Supports Full Airlangga Determines Party Steps In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - A total of 38 Regional Leadership Councils (DPD) of the Golkar Party throughout Indonesia expressed their readiness to win the 2024 General Election. Golkar fully supports and mandates the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto to take strategic steps in the presidential election.
"Ready to maintain unity and integrity as well as solidity with the DPP, Regency/City DPD, and all ranks of the Golkar party to the village/kelurahan level, in carrying out movements and work - winning the entire 2024 election agenda," said South Kalimantan Golkar DPD Chairman Sahbirin Noor, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 4.
The statement of attitude was read out with the chairmen of the Golkar DPD throughout Indonesia at the Opening of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) at the Golkar DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday. The statement document was then submitted to the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto.
They also emphasized their full support and mandate to the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto to take strategic steps and seek the right momentum to determine the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the Golkar Party.
In addition, they asked the Golkar Party DPP to continue to fight for the 2024 General Election to be held based on regulations and systems that have passed as so far, as stipulated in Law No. 7 of 2017 including an open proportional election system.
Sahbirin explained that Golkar as one of the political parties, which has participated in 11 elections in Indonesia, has also carried out very serious consolidation since the beginning of the period.
He claims that the Golkar Party is the only political party that has a fairly complete legislative candidate in all electoral districts at all levels.
He explained that as many as 580 names from 84 electoral districts of the DPR RI, 2,372 names from 301 provincial DPRD electoral districts, and 17,510 names from 2,325 district/city DPRD electoral districts, totaling 20,462 names that had been prepared. Even previously as many as 40,924 names had been netted to participate in the selection process.

That, he said, showed that the Golkar Party as the oldest and largest political party had made quite thorough preparations. However, back to the main goal that the preparations made were solely to be able to win the 2024 General Election.
