The Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is targeting to continue the construction of the Cirebon-Semarang Phase II Gas Transmission Pipeline (Batang-Kandang Haur Timur Section) starting in 2024.

The construction of the 240 km pipeline infrastructure is estimated to cost IDR 3.3 trillion and is completed within two years.

Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji explained that the construction is planned to take place from 2024 to 2025.

"The construction of Cisem Phase 2 from Batang to Cirebon to East Haur Kandang because the pipeline connection from that location to Lampung and beyond is already there," explained Tutuka, quoted Monday, May 29.

He added that the construction of the Phase 2 Cisem pipeline is four times the length compared to Phase 1 of Cisem and is planned for the auction process at the end of 2023.

The potential demand for this Phase 2 Cisem pipeline includes industries in Cirebon, Tegal. Pekalongan, Brebes and Pemalang with a volume of around 5.8-12 MMSCFD.

In addition, commercial consumers such as hotels and restaurants.

Then the household gas network, Balongan oil refinery with a volume of 24 MMSCFD and potentially increased to 42 MMCSFD.

"Another demand is a power plant with a volume of 189-199 MMCSFD," added Tutuka.

Tutuka continued, after the construction of the Cisem pipeline stages 1 and 2 were completed, the Government planned to build a 400 km Dumai-Sei Mangke transmission section.

Previously, a feasibility study was carried out which was planned to be carried out this year.

"Later, when the Dumai - Sei Mangke section is complete, the pipes will be connected from Arun to East Java," concluded Tutuka.
