OJK Call Securities Blocking Will Be Completed By The End Of February
JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) expects the status of the securities account blocking because it is suspected that the PT Asuransi Jiwasraya case by the Attorney General will be completed by the end of this month.
"Currently entering the final stages of verification and clarification, OJK hopes that by the end of February the Attorney General's Office will be able to decide on the status of the securities account," said Chief Executive of OJK Capital Market Supervisory Hoesen in a discussion in Bogor, West Java, this weekend.
Therefore, he asked the owner of the blocked account to fulfill the Attorney General's summons for verification.
"We hope that the account owner will come if asked by the Attorney General's Office. This is still a clarification process," he said.
According to him, verification of the securities account will be faster and more optimal if it is assisted by account holders in the form of providing information or confirmation to the Attorney General's Office.
Hoesen said the OJK is actively assisting the Attorney General's Office in verifying blocked securities accounts. "OJK supports the legal settlement process," he said.
Regarding the corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya, a number of securities accounts were blocked. Securities account holders objected because they could not transact.
Securities account blocking is carried out by order of the Attorney General's Office requesting the OJK. Then, OJK ordered the matter to the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI).
A total of 800 securities accounts were blocked due to Jiwasraya's default case. The order to block was mandated directly by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung), in order to facilitate the investigation of major corruption cases in Jiwasraya.
All blocked securities accounts were obtained from 137 companies. Most of those who were blocked did not know what cases were going on.
According to Febrie Adriansyah, the Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, all accounts that have been blocked will be separated, in order to facilitate the investigation of corruption cases in Jiwasraya.

"What is blocked must have a basis of connection. But in that there are several accounts that are blocked. Now these must be separated one by one, which transactions are directly related to a criminal act or not related to a criminal act," said Febrie in the statement received. , Thursday February 13th.
Febrie stated that all of the blocked share accounts were based on a link when there was an investment from Jiwasraya to several stocks and mutual funds. However, what is clear is that the blocking carried out was very technical, so that the investigation process for the corruption case in Jiwasraya could be opened up.
