JAKARTA - Soekarno-Hatta Immigration has assisted in the immigration process for the return of 46 Indonesian citizens who were victims of the Trafficking in Persons (TPPO). This is a form of Immigration cooperation in eradicating TIP.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Special Class I Immigration Office, Muhammad Tito Andrianto, explained that 26 TIP victims were repatriated from Myanmar via Don Mueang, Thailand, using Batik Air ID7630 aircraft which arrived at 21.30 WIB.

There were also 20 victims of TIP repatriated from Myanmar via Manila, Philippines, using a Cebu Pacific Airways aircraft with flight number 5J759 which arrived at 23.55 WIB.

"This is a form of our support for eradicating TIP, which of course requires synergy between agencies," Tito said in his statement, Friday, May 26.

Tito said that his party would increase supervision in the field of Immigration again. The goal is to prevent TIP victims from happening again.

"Currently we are developing an immigration data center in our working area, this will also help mitigate allegations of immigration violations or other criminal acts related to us, besides that we also continue to strengthen our immigration supervision," he said.
