Residents Killed By Trains In Johar Baru, Police Will Coordinate With KAI

JAKARTA - A middle-aged man was found dead when he was hit by a train in the Kramat Sawah area, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta. The victim is known to have the initials RS (51) a resident of Kramat Sawah.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said, from the testimony of three witnesses, the victim was crossing the railroad tracks before the incident.

"The witness saw the victim walking around the tracks. The witness admitted that the victim was walking around the location, it was like a common sight when people passed by around the railroad tracks. It was normal for him to do that", said Kombes Komarudin when confirmed, Friday, May 26.

The train accident became an evaluation material for the Central Jakarta Metro Police. The police will take preventive steps to minimize accidents around the railroad tracks.

"There are so many illegal crossings that are not equipped with latches. So of course if we studied this more deeply, what used to be not residential areas, now it has become a residential area. So, community activities are more frequent to pass the road," he said.

The Central Jakarta Metro Police will coordinate with PT KAI to address the incident and train crossings.

"The data we are still completing the risky crossings. In our area, most of them are official. Because indeed, the population density level has increased so that the activities of the people around the railroad tracks also increase," he said.
