Nadiem Makarim Guarantees Transparency In PTKL Evaluation

JAKARTA - Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim guarantees that the implementation of the evaluation of the adjustment of other ministries/institutional universities (PTKL) will be carried out transparently.“Kemendikbudristek also guarantees that during the evaluation and adjustment process it will not affect educational services at related PTKL,” he said in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, May 26.Based on data from the Ministry of Education and Culture, there are 125 street vendors under 24 ministries/institutions spread under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Central Statistics Agency, Police, to State Administration Institutions.The status of 125 street vendors is currently in transition while waiting for the evaluation and adjustment process by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate General of Vocational Education.Nadiem said that during the transition period and evaluation, universities could still run the Tri Dharma of universities in accordance with the provisions of the legislation."“PTKL can also continue to accept new students in the 2023/2024 academic year," he said.Nadiem said that his party had issued a Circular (SE) of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 4 of 2023 which was a guideline or reference for street vendors in carrying out higher education operations during the transition period.The circular regulates things that are allowed and should not be done by PTKL during the transition period which will end in December 2024 so that the evaluation process can run optimally.Nadirman added that the Ministry of Education and Culture will continue to coordinate with other ministries or institutions during the evaluation process so that it becomes a guarantee that the implementation of the PTKL evaluation will be objective and transparent.Nadiem also ensured that the arrangement of the PTKL was part of a large agenda in revitalizing education and vocational training in order to create superior human resources (HR).Arrangement and evaluation at the same time to ensure the availability of vocational and professional higher education services that are standardized, quality, and meaningful.Director General of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Kiki Yuliati, said that his party would oversee and conduct evaluations with the implementation no later than December 20, 2024.
"The evaluation process will be carried out under the criteria and instruments set by the Ministry of Education and Culture," he said.
