Former Mayor Of Lhokseumawe Becomes A Corruption Suspect Of PT RS Arun

BANDA ACEH - The Lhokseumawe District Attorney (Kejari) has named former Lhokseumawe Mayor Suaidi Yahya as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital with state losses reaching Rp44.9 billion.

The head of the Lhokseumawe District Attorney's Office, Lalu Syaifudin, said that the former mayors of Lhokseumawe Suaidi Yahya and Hariadi who had been named as suspects were the two main perpetrators or actors in the corruption case of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital.

"The two suspects are the main perpetrators, because together they are so that this incident (the corruption case of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital) can occur," said Lalu Syaifudin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 22.

He explained that the determination of the suspect against Suaidi Yahya was carried out after previously being examined as a witness. The determination of the suspect is carried out in accordance with the support of evidence and witnesses who have been examined.

"Suamidi Yahya's suspect was immediately detained for the smooth running of the investigation process without any disturbances and it was feared that he would run away, destroy or eliminate evidence and take actions to obstruct the investigation process," he said.

Suaidi Yahya was detained in Lhoksukon Prison. This was done as a consideration of the investigation strategy technique to separate the two main suspects in the corruption case of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital.

"The investigative team is currently focusing on these two main suspects. Regarding whether there will be a possibility of new suspects, we'll see in the future," he said.

"Currently, the Kejari has not confiscated the assets belonging to the suspect Suaidi Yahya. But we will see if this is an urgency or very important element," said Lalu.

In addition, said Lalu Syaifudin, until now the total number of witnesses who have been examined related to the corruption case of PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital is 19 people, including the wife of suspect Suaidi Yahya.

According to Lalu Syaifudin, the flow of funds in the corruption case of PT RS Arun Lhokseumawe was received by several parties. Until now, the total money that has been returned or confiscated as evidence has reached Rp8.1 billion.

"I emphasize to all parties who feel that they have received the flow of corruption funds from PT Arun Lhokseumawe Hospital to immediately return the money. The investigating team from the prosecutor's office has their own way of tracing the funds if there is no good faith to return the funds," he said.
