Two Couriers 15 Kg Of Shabu Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison At The Medan District Court
The panel of judges decided that the defendant Musa Ardian alias Musa and Syafrizal alias Icap (separate files) were couriers of 15 kg of crystal methamphetamine through a virtual trial at the Medan District Court (PN).
"Decided that the two defendants were sentenced to 20 years in prison," said Chief Justice Denny Lumbantobing in the verdict reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.
Denny said from the facts revealed at the trial, the two defendants were believed to have been found guilty of committing a criminal act in Article 114 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning narcotics.
The defendant, according to Hamim, together without rights and against the law, became an intermediary for buying and selling or courier of 15 kg of methamphetamine from Malaysia which will be brought to Pekanbaru City, Riau.
The panel of judges considered that the aggravating actions of the two defendants were not in line with the government's program in eradicating narcotics trafficking, and damaging the nation's generation.
"The thing that relieves the two defendants is that they regret their actions in carrying the narcotics," said the panel of judges.

The verdict of the panel of judges against the two defendants was lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor from the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Maria Fr. Br. Tarigan with the death penalty.
Previously, the two defendants were residents of Riau, a syndicate between the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra and Riau. The illicit goods were obtained from Tanjungbalai to be delivered to Pekan Baru, Riau.
However, when delivering, the North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate secured it in the Tanjungbalai waters, North Sumatra.
