Social Minister Risma also visited several points affected by floods and landslides in Manado, namely, in the Kelurahan Ternate Tanjung, Kelurahan Malalayang Satu Barat, and Desa Buloh, the business area of Manado Town Square (Mantos), Megamas, Kelurahan Batu Kota.
He also took the time to stop by the Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Sensory Eye Disabilities Paal IV.
The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed aid for disaster management in North Sulawesi Province with a total value of Rp1,854,485,260. The details, emergency response logistical assistance worth Rp1,632,606,660 sent from the Ministry of Social's central warehouse, 500 basic food packages worth Rp 100,000,000, and evacuation equipment worth Rp. 31,878,600
Refugee equipment includes 50 boxes of instant noodles, 50 kg of shredded food, 500 cans of canned food, 20 boxes of pregnant mother's milk, 10 boxes of UHT milk, toiletries, 250 pcs of blankets, 216 pcs of children's clothes, 20 pcs of sanitary napkins, 206 pcs of baby diapers. .
In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provided heir compensation assistance for 6 families of the victims who died worth IDR 90,000,000.
"Apart from providing assistance and compensation for the families of the victims, I also received reports from the Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) and the Mayor for infrastructure improvements, for example the relocation of residents who are (in) disaster-prone areas," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
BNPB data as of January 18, 2021 stated that moderate to high rains and unstable soil caused floods and landslides in several areas in Manado City on Saturday, January 16 at around 15.09 WITA.
As a result, as many as 6 people died and 10 sub-districts were affected by landslides, namely Tikala, Paal Dua, Sario, Bunaken, Malalayang, Tuminting, Mapanget, Singkil, and Wenang Districts.
