Kendari Police Arrest Specialists Of Gas Cylinder Thieves Owned By The Poor
Officials from Buser 77 Kendari Police, Southeast Sulawesi Police arrested Arwin Alias Gayus Alias Ui (22), a resident of Sanua Village, West Kendari District, who is a specialist thief in gas cylinders.
"The suspect who was arrested on Saturday (13/5) at 14.00 WITA was involved in theft in a number of locations with different evidence, including theft of 14 cellphones and cash amounting to Rp6.8 million at Counter Ocing Cell on April 25, 2023," said Kendari Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Fitrayadi, Sunday, May 14.
Fitrayadi explained, on March 28, 2023, Gayus stole gas cylinders, electric guitars, amplifiers and sound at Kedai Litrasi Coffe. In the last case, he stole 118 3 kg LPG gas cylinders in a number of places in Kendari City.
"After investigators find sufficient preliminary evidence, then Buser 77 Satreskrim together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kemaraya Police, Kendari City Police, conduct a search for the suspect," explained Fitrayadi.
Fitrayadi added that the suspect was arrested in Gunung Jati Village, Kendari District. From that arrest, the police found evidence in the form of a black Oppo A57 cellphone.

The suspect also stole 1 unit of black Samsung A13 cellphone brand, 1 unit of white samsung galaxy note 5 brand cellphone, 1 unit of green HP realme. 1 acoustic guitar brand F-310 and 118 LPG gas cylinders packaging 3 kg, "said Fitrayadi.
The suspect carried out the action with two of his friends who are currently still being searched by officers. In carrying out the action, the suspect and his friend used a rental car.
Other evidence is still being sought. The proceeds of the theft were used for living expenses and buying liquor, "concluded Fitrayadi.
The suspect is suspected under Article 363 of the Criminal Code, with the threat of 7 years in prison.
