National Police Chief: ASEAN 2023 Summit Runs Safely Smoothly
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the synergy between the TNI and Polri, relevant stakeholders and the community made the series of the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023 Labuan Bajo run smoothly and safely.
Sigit said the existence of 91 security centers of Labuan Bajo was prepared as the control center for security operations during the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
According to the National Police Chief, the security carried out by the National Police is in ring three, while the TNI is in ring one and two. However, the entire series of security is carried out in a synergy between the TNI, Polri and all relevant stakeholders in order to provide a sense of comfort in the implementation of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
"The concept is that we are working with the TNI. Even though there are members of the National Police in ring one and two, they are still under the direct control of Paspampres and the Commander in Chief," said Sigit as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
The National Police Chief said that the existence of 91 command centers could monitor all member activities at various points. Starting from the arrival point at the airport, accommodation venue, to the location of the ASEAN Summit activities.
In general, all these activities can be monitored from the command center via CCTV. When an instruction is given, members in the field can act immediately, so that it can facilitate their duties.
"Through the command center, all activities can be monitored and they immediately interact," he said.

Not only that, he continued, members of the National Police are also equipped with a body wormhole, Handy talky (HT) and other communication tools.
"In general, we can get details on the picture in the field. So this facilitates control in the implementation of Komodo Operation 2023," he said.
Since the beginning, continued Sigit, the National Police has provided an overview of activities for all members involved in Operation Komodo 2023 regarding the challenges faced in the field and the steps that must be taken. Starting from the tactical floor game (TFG) to the troop deployment.
"Alhamdulillah, until today we have detected several potential threats and resolved them well with discussions," said Sigit.
The National Police Chief said that in general, a number of potentials that occurred in Labuan Bajo could be handled properly. Then the most complicated thing is the path arrangement because it is very crowded. So this requires traffic engineering.
"We thank the public for their support, although we have changed the route, but they understand so that we can give priority to the heads of state and their delegates to arrive on time," said Sigit.
