Wayan Koster Discusses Clean Energy Cooperation With The UK
DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster when meeting with British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins who visited in order to end his duties in Indonesia discussed cooperation on clean energy.
"In the context of implementing a clean energy policy, including the potential for electric buses and we are indeed heading there. In the future, we will increase it, so that it can become a cooperation space between the Bali Provincial Government and the British Government," he said in Denpasar as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
Koster explained that so far Bali and the UK through their embassy have had good cooperation, many are already running and the field of clean energy is a new offer.
He conveyed that the clean energy they discussed at the meeting was not only limited to electric buses, but further discussed the Light Rail Transit (LRT) of electric trains that were predicted by the government.
"The LRT that we will develop in Bali is currently in the process of feasibility study and later after this we will follow up with which parties cooperate in the implementation of this public transportation program, especially the LRT," explained the Governor of Bali.
In addition to discussing clean energy, both electric vehicles and public transportation, the future offer that will be followed up by the Bali Provincial Government is in the field of education and digitization.

"The link with digitalization in Bali is currently running on a creative and digital economy program that was launched several years ago but has not run optimally. In the future, we will certainly carry out an offer from the British Ambassador as a cooperation scheme that will be implemented," said Koster.
British Ambassador Owen Jenkins, who has been in the position for four years, confirmed that his country is committed to working closely together in the clean energy sector, especially for electric vehicles.
"The UK wants to bring its expertise in offering in the clean and renewable energy sector. And this plan is in line with the vision and mission of the Bali Provincial Government who wants to implement clean energy in all sectors, we hope it can be followed up," he said.
