Muhammad Daffa's Recipe Breaks Wushu's Signature Wins Gold Medal At SEA Games 2023
JAKARTA - The wushu sport finally broke the deadlock at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. The first gold medal was won on Thursday, May 11.
Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy won gold for Indonesia from the match number Jianshu-Qiangshu. He won the highest score of Jianshu with 9.76 points. Previously, he also recorded the highest score of 9.65 points for Qiangshu.
Meanwhile, the silver medal was won by taolu athletes from Malaysia Vincen Wong (Jiangshu 9.63 points and Qiangshu 9.47 points) and taolu athlete Philipina Gainan Sandrex (Jianghsu 9.69 and Qiangshu 9.33 points) won bronze.
Daffa said the key to winning a gold medal was to be consistent in practicing hard and honing the abilities that already had. He is also diligent in participating in various competitions, so that his flight hours as well as his confidence also increase.
"When it comes to what has changed since 2017, it must be experience and flight hours. It affects the training process. In addition, there are also many matches that are followed and there is a TC (training camp) to China as well, so it affects training programs," he said.
"In addition, to maintain performance, yes, matches are not only SEA Games, there are PON, Asian championships, world championships, open, and others," he said.

This is gold for Daffa. At the 2017 SEA Games, the 2000-born athlete won a bronze medal.
"This is Indonesia's first gold for wushu (at the 2023 SEA Games) and my first gold medal at the SEA Games," said Daffa, as quoted by Antara.
"Previously at the 2017 SEA Games I got bronze. In Vietnam I didn't play because there was no number," he continued.
After the Cambodian SEA Games, Daffa hopes to move on to the Asian Games which will be held in China this year. In addition, he also hopes that his first gold medal achievement for wushu can motivate his friends who are still competing tomorrow.
"What is certain is that I present this first gold to the family, PB WI management, and Indonesian people who have prayed. Hopefully later we can donate gold from wushu again," he concluded.
