Head Of DLH Bandung: TPA Sarimukti Who Accommodates Greater Bandung Waste Is Very Full
JABAR - The Bandung Regency Environment Agency (DLH) stated that the Sarimukti Final Disposal Site (TPA) was very full. The TPA cannot now optimally handle waste in the Greater Bandung area.
"TPA Sarimukti, which accommodates the waste in the Greater Bandung area, is now very full, causing the TPA operation to be less than optimal," said Head of DLH Bandung Regency Asep Kusumah in a press release, Wednesday, May 10, which was confiscated by Antara.
Another factor that makes the handling of waste at the Sarimukti TPA less than optimal, according to him, includes operational time which is only until 17.00 WIB and limited disposal zones and heavy equipment.
He said there was only one disposal zone at the Sarimukti TPA which could still be used with the availability of three heavy equipment.
However, Asep said, when it rains, the condition of the Sarimukti TPA blocks the transportation of waste.
"In addition to high rainfall, making the road at the TPA difficult to pass," he said.
Asep said the Bandung Urban Area Management Agency was trying to reactivate the Sarimukti TPA to deal with waste in Greater Bandung.

According to him, until May 4, 2023, only Zone 3 can be used to accommodate waste so that the waste that can be transported to the TPA is reduced by 50 percent.
"Currently, the Sarimukti TPA reactivation process is carried out in Zone 1 with an area of 3.4 hectares, because the Sarimukti TPA 4 Zone can no longer accommodate waste," he said.
In order to overcome the waste problem, he explained, the Bandung Regency Government implemented an individual, household-based waste management system, RW, villages, sub-districts, and areas in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2022 concerning Waste Processing.
"The mandate of this rule is also strengthened by the support of programs and funding such as thematic waste bank programs, the procurement of magot, catfish cultivation, and so on as solutions now and in the future," said Asep.
According to him, Bandung Regency also has 164 3R TPS.
"Then there is the addition of 31 garbage transportation fleets from 2016 to 2022," he said.
In addition, he continued, there is a Waste Processing Education Center (Puspa) in Badukong Village and the Cicukang-Oxbow Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Mekarahayu Village.
"In 2023, TPST will be built at Citacliktik Soreang and in Ukong, Baleendah, with a capacity of 10 to 20 tons each," he said.
He said that the district government in 2024 will build TPST in Nagreg and ex-TPA Babakan sub-districts in Arjasari sub-district with a capacity of 30 to 50 tons.
"Hopefully we can solve the garbage (problem) in Bandung Regency," said Asep.
Regarding the garbage that accumulates and causes a pungent odor in areas such as the Cileunyi Healthy Market and Baleendah Market, Asep said that the garbage does not only come from the market, but also from residential areas around it.
"For example in Baleendah, there are at least 10 housing houses and several RWs around Baleendah Market," he said.
