Jokowi Doesn't Invite NasDem To The Palace, PDIP: The President Is Still Opening The Dialogue Room
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said that Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continued to open spaces for dialogue even though he did not invite the NasDem Party to a meeting of political party leaders at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 2.
"The proof is that there is also a meeting between Mr. Luhut (Minister of Maritime and Investment Coordinators) and Mr. Surya Paloh (Chairman of NasDem). It shows the leadership that built the dialogue earlier," said Hasto, quoted by ANTARA, May 8.
Thus, Hasto stated that Luhut's meeting with Surya Paloh was a form of dialogue between Jokowi and NasDem.
Hasto initially said that politics was not only built on the formality of political cooperation, but also paid attention to ethical aspects, aspects of signaling leadership, policy directions from President Jokowi.
"This must also be read, why Mr. President Jokowi at the meeting did not invite the NasDem Party, but as a figure who puts forward dialogue, Mr. Jokowi is open," said Hasto.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, regarding whether or not it is necessary for NasDem to be reshuffled from the government cabinet, Hasto emphasized that it was under President Jokowi's authority.
According to him, the matter of reshuffle must be done with various considerations. For example, to increase the effectiveness of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and maintain solidity.
"Regarding the reshuffle, this is the full authority of the President and the PDI-P from the start to state that they do not interfere in this," he said.
However, Hasto continued, when the reshuffle was carried out by the will of the President, the reshuffle had to go through a consideration to increase the effectiveness of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
"To maintain the solidity of all cabinet ranks led by Mr. President Jokowi and Kiai Haji Ma'ruf Amin, and all of them are also to ensure that the 2024 leadership transition process can run well in the future," he said.
