Komjen Listyo Sigit Touches The Case Of Grandma Minah, Stole Cocoa Sentenced To 1 Year In Prison
JAKARTA - Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo underwent a fit and proper test as a candidate for National Police Chief at Commission III of the Indonesian Parliament, Wednesday, January 20. In the test, Listyo was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Edy and several high-ranking officers in the Bhayangkara corps.
In his presentation, Komjen Listyo promised to improve the implementation of law in Indonesia. Law, he stressed, not only pursues certainty but also provides a sense of justice to society.
"The law must not be sharp upward, blunt downward. The case of Minah's grandmother who is in legal proceedings is no longer allowed or another case that disturbs public justice," said Listyo Sigit in a fit and proper test broadcast live streaming by the Indonesian Parliament, Wednesday, January 20.
According to Kabareskim, law enforcement must remain humanist which provides legal justice to the community, not legal certainty.
"In my leadership I have become a focus, changing the face of the National Police. Polri which gives hope to the people, is oriented towards society, respects human rights and safeguards the democratic process," he said.
Grandma Minah's case caused a public stir in Indonesia. He was sentenced to 1 year, 5 months in prison for stealing 3 cocoa pods belonging to PT Rumpun Sari Antan (RSA).
The incident took place in Sidoarjo Hamlet, Darmakradenan Village, Ajibarang District, Banyumas, Central Java, on August 2. This Minah cultivated land is also managed by PT RSA to plant cocoa.
Grandma Mina apologized when her actions were discovered by the local foreman. He promised not to do it again.
Unfortunately the apology did not apply. A week later he was summoned by the police until finally he was sentenced to 1 year and 5 months in prison with 3 months probation.
