Cisarua Banjir Bandang, Katulampa Weir Flowing To Jakarta Still Normal
JAKARTA - Flash floods and landslides have hit the Gunung Mas tea plantation, Tugu Selatan Village, Cisarua, Bogor since this morning due to heavy rains. However, the water level in Katulampa Dam is still in normal condition.
Bendung Katulampa is located in Bogor City, West Java. Monitoring the water level in this dam is used as an early warning of water flowing to Jakarta.
Head of the Data and Information Center for the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) M. insaf said that currently the water in Katulampa Dam did not show a significant increase after the flash floods hit Cisarua.
"From the information on the water level, the Katulampa Dam is still normal and has not shown a significant increase due to the flash floods," Insaf told reporters, Tuesday, January 19.
Insaf said the DKI Jakarta BPBD had coordinated with the Bogor Regency BPBD regarding the Gunung Mas Flash Flood. Until now, the water level in Katulampa Weir has still reached 40 centimeters or is in normal status (standby 4).
"To anticipate the increase in water level and flood shipments, we will be coordinated with the Water Resources Service," said Insaf.
For information, there was rain with high intensity in Tugu Selatan Village, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency at 10:00 WIB today. As a result, landslides from mountains and flash floods were inevitable. A total of 900 people were affected by the flood.
The floods and landslides caused trees to fall and closed the access roads for residents so that the location of the flash floods was isolated. A total of 134 families with a total of 474 people must be evacuated from the location of the incident to avoid further flash floods.
Based on the analysis of atmospheric dynamics conditions, BMKG said that the rain cloud growth process at the time of the incident was triggered by unstable atmospheric conditions, and supported by anomalous conditions of sea surface temperature which is still warm.
Then, there is an area of wind deceleration that passes through the West Java region. A number of these factors increase the potential for rain cloud growth which results in quite high rainfall conditions. The impact, triggered river water overflow and resulted in flooding around river basins in West Java.
