Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD reminded the police that the investigation into the loss of evidence in the form of illegal fuel oil (BBM) in North Kalimantan (Kaltara) must be carried out openly and professionally.Mahfud asked various allegations that he needed to wait for the results of the examination and audit from the police and the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), whose several members were coming directly to the Kaltara Police to guard the investigation."So, it must be professional, open, what is the problem," said Mahfud MD at the Kemenkopolhukam Building, Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, April 27.He also asked all parties to wait for the results of the investigation related to the removal of Kombes Teguh Triwantoro, who at that time served as Head of Propam Polda Kaltara, because he was considered absent from the task of investigating the case of the disappearance of evidence of illegal fuel."We don't really know if he was involved or not, and so on but I have sent the chief executive of Kompolnas there, Pak Benny Mamoto," said Mahfud MD.Mahfud said the parties had agreed that Teguh would temporarily be returned to his position as Head of the North Kalimantan Regional Police."The negotiations, which have been agreed upon, are returned to their positions. That is the negotiation until this afternoon," said Mahfud.The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Kaltara Police has uncovered a case of illegal distribution of diesel and Pertalite fuels in Nunukan April 2022.However, the case was in the spotlight when the Nunukan District Attorney rejected the case file from the police because the amount of evidence did not match the investigation report (BAP). The evidence stored at the Tanjung Selor VIP Port, Kaltara, was also reported missing.From this incident, the North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Daniel Adityajaya ordered the North Kalimantan Police Propam to examine the disappearance of the evidence. On April 10, 2023, Teguh was removed from his position as Head of Propam Polda Kaltara.The Head of Public Relations of the Kaltara Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Rachmad explained that the removal was in accordance with the Chief of Police Regulation Number 15 of 2015 and was in line with the recommendations from the results of the Career Advisory Council session.
Budi said the removal was also to support the examination from the Regional Supervision Inspectorate of the Kaltara Police regarding alleged violations.
