Mataram Police Deploy 500 Personnel To Secure Coastal Areas During Lebaran Topat
The Mataram Police, West Nusa Tenggara, deployed 500 personnel to monitor the coastal security situation, which was the location for the Sasak people's favorite visit when celebrating the "Lebaran Topat"."The total number of personnel on duty specifically in the coastal area during the 'Lebaran Topat' is 1,000 people. From the Mataram 500 Police, the rest are from the TNI and there is also support from the local government," said Mataram Police Chief Kombes Mustofa in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, April 27.In addition to security in the coastal area, Mustofa assured that he had coordinated with the Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of the NTB Regional Police and Basarnas for security at sea.Mustofa considers this very important considering the incident of two teenagers who were found dead drowning due to being dragged by waves in the North Lombok Regency area, last Wednesday."So, we ask polarists and Basarnas to help carry out marine patrols. This is important to anticipate drowning victims like what happened in North Lombok, last Wednesday," he said.
Furthermore, Mustofa asked for support from residents who had no interest in the celebration of "Lebaran Topat", Saturday (29/4), to avoid the coastal area. "If there is no interest, it's better to just stay at home," he said.
