SMRC Survey Calls Voter Response To Ganjar Majority Believe Corruption Occurs In Formula E Case

JAKARTA - The survey institute Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting (SMRC) released a poll on public views on the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E from the segmentation of prospective presidential candidates (candidates) for the 2024 General Election.

The founder of SMRC, Saiful Mujani explained that in this survey held in March, the majority of respondents who felt confident about the alleged corruption in Formula E came from supporters of Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.

In the survey process, respondents were asked whether they knew or not that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was currently investigating the alleged corruption in Formula E. As a result, not many know.

"There are 21 percent of residents who know that the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the implementation of Formula E car racing," Saiful said in a SMRC TV YouTube broadcast, Thursday, April 27.

Then, from the composition of respondents who were aware of the alleged corruption case in Formula E, 57 percent felt that corruption had occurred.

Then, 31 percent said they were not sure of any acts of corruption, and the other 11 percent did not answer.

Regarding the effect in the 2024 presidential election, Saiful said from respondents who stated that they believed there was a corruption case in the Formula E case, 60 percent of them chose Ganjar, 27 percent chose Prabowo Subianto, and 13 percent chose Anies Baswedan.

On the other hand, as many as 35.2 percent who are not sure that there is corruption in the Formula E case, came from 24 percent of respondents chose Ganjar, 31 percent chose Prabowo, and 45 percent chose Anies.

"(In this case) Formula E, the supporters of Ganjar and supporters of Anies. Anies supporters believe there is no corruption, on the contrary Ganjar supporters believe there is corruption," said Saiful.

"Electorally, this issue is important. The case of Formula E is an electoral contestation problem between Ganjar and Anies," he continued.

Therefore, Saiful concluded that more and more people were aware of this issue, the tendency for negative sentiment was also getting bigger.

"People don't seem to be following this issue much, but once they find out, they tend to be negative, that there is corruption there," said Saiful.
