PDIP Will Not Force Prabowo Subianto To Become Ganjar Pranowo's Vice Presidential Candidate
Jakarta - PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) responded to Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto who was not very open about the possibility of becoming a presidential candidate (Capres) Ganjar Pranowo. Prabowo stated that he had become a Gerindra presidential candidate, and his party is now quite large.
Asked by reporters about this, PDIP DPP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that his party could not force Prabowo to become Ganjar's vice presidential candidate.
The reason is, he said that a pair of presidential and vice-presidential candidates needed communication at the beginning and a joint commitment to the people.
"Yes, of course, we don't model forced marriage, of course there is a relationship, there is an understanding, there is a commitment to the people of the nation and state," said Hasto when asked by reporters at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (24/4/2023). PDIP DPP chairman Ahmad Basarah accompanied Hasto during the interview.
Hasto added, if the party bearing the symbol of a white-nosed bull continues to monitor the situation of political dynamics that always move dynamically.
Thus, PDIP will continue to conduct studies on the figure of the Vice Presidential Candidate for Ganjar Pranowo. Where, the decision and study will be carried out by the General Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri.
"We are conducting continuous studies and later explored by Megawati Soekarnoputri's mother who made the decision," explained Hasto.

The politician from Yogyakarta said that his party did not randomly match the presidential and vice presidential pairs.
However, PDIP will see the constellation of society as the holder of sovereignty.
"So there are no processes related to matchmaking because all of that goes naturally according to the wishes of the community," explained Hasto.
