Secretary General Of Gerindra Calls Sandiaga Uno's Move Due To Being Tempted By Political Positions But Not In Accordance With Ethics

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani said that Sandiaga Uno's departure from the Gerindra Party was due to the temptation of desire to get a certain political position when his current popularity was widely known by the public.

"It seems he is tempted by surveys, tempted by his content, passion and political desires I don't know what his hopes and agenda are. Then, he said goodbye to leaving us to jump into other parties. Maybe that's his way of getting political positions," Muzani told reporters in Tangerang, Banten, Monday.

He said that Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto had a big role in raising Sandiaga Uno's name in the national political arena, where the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy was included as a Gerindra Party cadre in 2014.

"At that time, he was not a well-known person. He was known as an entrepreneur, yes. But, in the political field, no," he said, quoted by Antara.

Including, he continued, when Sandiaga competed in the 2016 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election contestation.

"Then it was Pak Prabowo who predicted him as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta to compete with Ahok. In 2017, he finally side by side with Anies as Deputy Governor for the struggle of all Gerindra cadres and the people of Jakarta, as well as Pak Prabowo's recommendations," he said.

Then, he said again, Prabowo Subianto then appointed Sandiaga Uno to become a vice presidential candidate who had a duet with him in the 2019 presidential election.

"After that, 2019 accompanying Pak Prabowo did not become elected, then 1.5 years later, he was elected as Menparekraf until now," he said.

Therefore, Muzani considered that Sandiaga's political position was relatively fast compared to other Gerindra Party cadres. However, he regretted Sandiaga's decision to leave his party.

"Pak Prabowo said that his mentor, Pak Prabowo, said his political teacher, Prabowo, said his leader, Prabowo, was said to be a senior," he added.

Muzani even mentioned that Sandiaga's attitude in choosing to jump to another political party for a certain position was not a form and thank you for Gerindra's assistance so far.

"When the leap was meant to reach new positions because in old positions he didn't feel as expected, of course it wasn't a form of gratitude and gratitude that has been shown so far," he said.

For this reason, Muzani said that Sandiaga's decision to defect from the Gerindra Party and move to another political party was not intended to be an attitude that should be imitated by other Gerindra Party cadres.

"Of course it's not a propriety that can be imitated, it's not an ethics that can be learned," said Muzani.

Previously, Sunday (23/4), Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that he had said goodbye from Gerindra and had apologized to the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.
