Luhut: We Should Be Proud To Use Local Bicycles

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan urged people to be proud of using local products, including local bicycles.

The invitation was conveyed by Luhut during the "Back Cycling for a Healthy and Advanced Indonesia" held by the Ministry of Transportation at Gambir Station, Jakarta, Sunday, January 17.

The event is part of a series of campaigns for the 2021 Indonesia Made Proud National Movement.

"We should all be proud to use local products in our daily lives, including for fitness activities such as cycling," Luhut said as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 18.

The event, which was held with cycling activities and an exhibition of local bicycle products, was held online and offline.

"Of course we do not stop here. What is more important is our concrete action to support by buying local products. It all starts with us, who must first buy, and proudly promote to colleagues. This is where the spirit of mutual cooperation is here. cooperation is realized, "he said.

The event, which runs from 17-31 January 2021, exhibits various conventional and electric-powered bicycle products made by the nation's children.

A number of participating brands include United Bike, Volta, Jarvis, Selis, Rakata, Uinfly, Dipa Bike, Petra Bike, Molisidi, BF Goodrich, Elbike and Viar. Also participating in this exhibition were various MSMEs assisted by PT Pelindo II, PT KAI, PT BRI, and Bank Indonesia.

"At this event various MSME products were exhibited, especially conventional bicycles, electric bikes and electric motorbikes made in Indonesia. We are able to make designs according to people's lifestyles, of course this is very relevant. In addition, as the host, we strive to ensure that the place is The connectivity area can be used as well as possible for the Gernas BBI activities this month, "said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Cooperatives and UKM, Teten Masduki, hopes that the series of activities of the National Proud Movement made in Indonesia will be an event to increase the scale of MSMEs. The event is also expected to expand digital payments through QRIS, and focus on Indonesian Artisan in their respective regions.

"We hope that the cooperation and collaboration between the central government and regional governments can revive MSMEs in the national sector," he concluded.
