Arrested By KPK, Meranti SatPol PP Removes All Billboards Muhammad Adil
MERANTI - Civil Service Police Unit officers removed all billboards and banners with pictures of the inactive Meranti Islands Regent Muhammad Adil installed in a number of strategic areas after the regional head was arrested by the KPK on April 6, 2023.
Acting Head of Satpol PP and Fire Department of Meranti Islands Regency Febrizon said controlling billboards is a routine operation of advertising attributes that are not in accordance with Regional Regulations on Public Order.
"All billboards or banners whose placements are not in accordance with the regional regulation will be lowered and because Pak Adil has been deactivated, we will remove his billboards. He is no longer the regent," said Febrizon, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 11.
At least there are 20 billboards and banners with a picture of Muhammad Adil being taken down by Satpol PP officers, be it billboards with the head of regional apparatus organizations and billboards with his wife and family.
"Without exception, everything is released," added Febrizon.
The removal was carried out in order to create a conducive situation and condition of the community.
Previously, the Regent of the Meranti Islands Muhammad Adil was caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at his official residence on Thursday night, April 6, 2023, along with dozens of officials in the Meranti Islands Regency Government.

Muhammad Adil is suspected of having accepted bribes for the procurement of Umrah services and cutting Inventory Money (UP) and Supply Compensation Money (GU) within the Meranti Islands Regency Government.
Apart from being fair, the KPK also detained and appointed the Acting Head of the Meranti Islands Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Fitria Nengsih and the Head of the Audit Team of the Riau Representative Audit Agency M. Fahmi Aressa as suspects in the case.
