Transaction Of Sale And Purchase Of Takjil Ramadan Market In Banyuwangi Reaches IDR 40 Million Per Day

JAKARTA - The Banyuwangi Regency Government, East Java, noted that the average buying and selling transactions in the takjil market managed by MSME turnover reached around Rp. 40 million per day from the beginning to the middle of Ramadan 1444 Hijri.

The largest transactions are in three main takjil markets in the center of Banyuwangi City, namely the takjil market on Jalan Letjen Sutoyo, Taman Blambangan, and the Integrated Tourism Terminal.

"The takjil market in these three locations is quite effective in encouraging economic turnover with transactions reaching more than Rp. 40 million per day," said Head of the Banyuwangi Regency Culture and Tourism Office, MY Bramuda in Banyuwangi, Sunday, quoted by Antara.

Thus, he continued, buying and selling transactions in the takjil market until the middle of the month of Ramadan had reached more than Rp. 500 million. This amount, said Bramuda, does not include transactions in dozens of other takjil markets spread across all sub-districts in the eastern tip of Java Island district.

According to him, the sale and purchase transaction showed that the district government's efforts to bandage the takjil market with the frame of the Street Food Festival resulted in positive results.

By packing the takjil market as one of the flagship festivals in the tourism calendar "Banyuwangi Festival", the district government wants the community's economy to be stretched down during Ramadan.

"When it opens at the beginning of Ramadan, we really want the takjil market to be a momentum to stimulate the economy," said Bramuda.

He added that the district government accommodates MSME traders to sell at the takjil market during Ramadan, and urges people to take advantage of the existence of the takjil market to fulfill the iftar menu.

Insiyah, one of the traders with various side dishes at the takjil Jalan Letjen Sutoyo Banyuwangi market, admitted that he could pocket money or turnover of more than Rp. 1 million.

"Usually the most crowded at the beginning and end of the month of Ramadan. In the middle of Ramadan, it usually slows down," he said.
