Dito Ariotedjo's Focus After Receiving The Menpora Position, Nearest SEA Games 2023
JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo immediately focused on the many tasks in sight. One thing that caught his attention was the preparation of the Indonesian contingent for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
The multi-event agenda will take place from 5-17 May. With a narrower time, in fact, Indonesia has not decided the number of contingents to be sent.
Even though the review team from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) has submitted recommendations since the end of last February.
"What is certain is that in this limited time, it has been less than a month since the SEA Games, so we will focus on the departure of the contingent to the SEA Games," said Dito Ariotedjo after handing over the position at Wisma Kemenpora, Senayan on Tuesday 4 April afternoon.
Although the main focus is on preparing for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, Dito also does not turn a blind eye to other agendas. The former chairman of RANS Nusantara admitted that he would also focus on other sporting events that would be held in Indonesia.
According to him, events that are no less important and must be prepared optimally, namely the Basketball World Cup and the ANOC World Beach Games (AWBG).
"In addition, in the near future there will also be many events that will be held in Indonesia such as the FIBA World Cup and AWBG," he said.
Furthermore, Dito also emphasized that he would try his best to carry out the direction of President Joko Widodo who requested that the development of Indonesian football continue to be improved.
In order to make this happen, Dito admitted that he was ready to intensify competitions or leagues from schools starting from the elementary level to the highest level.
"The president asked to intensify leagues in education from elementary to college, and also at the regional level for villages," said the young Golkar Party politician.
"So we will make a league between sports villages that are popular with the people below," he concluded.
