Palace Appoints South Jakarta Mayor Marullah Matali To Become Regional Secretary Of DKI

JAKARTA - The Presidential Palace has appointed South Jakarta Mayor Marullah Matali to be the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, said the Presidential Decree (Keppres) on the DKI Regional Secretariat has been issued and has been sent to the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

"Yes, the SK (decree) has been sent to the DKI Regional Government and the authority to inaugurate lies with the Governor," Heru said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 14.

Even though he has sent a Presidential Decree regarding Marullah's inauguration, Heru admits that he does not know the exact schedule of the inauguration, even though the information he gets will be inaugurated on Friday, January 15.

"I don't know the schedule yet, but I'll hear about it tomorrow Friday (15/1)," Heru said.

Previously, information that Marullah Matali was elected as DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary and will be sworn in on Friday, January 15, was confirmed by a member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Syarif.

"Yes, it has been selected since Monday. (The decree) has been issued and the schedule for the inauguration is likely to be tomorrow Friday (15/1)," said Syarif.

Marullah Matali is known to have won the highest score in the selection stage for the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary. In the competency assessment test, Marullah scored 82.22 and received a weight of 20.56 percent.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan proposed three names of state civil servants (ASN) as candidates for the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta.

The ASNs proposed by Anies were the Acting Regional Secretary (Pj) of DKI Sri Haryati, the Mayor of South Jakarta Administration Marullah Matali and the Mayor of North Jakarta Administration Sigit Wijatmoko.
