28.5 Kg Of Semarang-Yogyakarta Firecracker Explosives Successfully Thwarted In Magelang
Magelang Police, Central Java, arrested a network of suppliers and explosives makers of firecrackers across Semarang-Yogyakarta and five police officers confiscated about 28.5 kilograms of firecracker powder. "Five suspects, each with the initials MN, KR, UL residents Tegalrejo and KU and HS residents of Grabag, Magelang Regency," said Magelang City Police Chief AKBP Yolanda Evalyn Sebayang, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 29.
He said, from a number of firecrackers powders, as many as 20 kilograms of them were the result of operations carried out on Tuesday night.
He conveyed that on Tuesday night at around 23.45 WIB, the Magelang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit received information from the public who saw several suspicious people on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, precisely in front of the Magelang City RPH. From this information, an investigation was carried out and secured KR and MN, both of whom were carrying firecrackers or firecrackers weighing 2 kilograms along with their axes.Yolanda said that the two people found the firecrackers made from UL. The police also carried out follow-up investigations and obtained three kilograms of fireworks makers and their axes.The results of the interrogation of UL, the police continued their investigation and succeeded in securing 15 kilograms of firecracker makers along with axes stored in Kauman Hamlet, Tegalrejo Village, Tegalrejo District, Magelang Regency. The police said that on Tuesday night the police also received information that there was a sale and purchase of illegal explosives at the ER entrance to the Soerojo Hospital Semarang-Yogyakarta Street Hospital, Magelang City. During the investigation at that location, the police managed to secure KU and HS along with firecracker material powder as much as 5 kilograms and 10 pieces of axial paper. Then the Resmob Team carried out developments at the perpetrator's house in the Klegen area, Grabang District, Magelang Regency, and obtained tools to mix firecracker type explosives as well as tools to make casings.

The Resmob team also received 6.5 kilograms of fireworks powder and two kilograms of explosives powder that had not been mixed. The suspects were charged with Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
