"It's funny how things started," said Satriani. "July 1994 I was on tour with Deep Purple and I warmed up with my guitar backstage in the bull solitary at the Plaza de Toros in Gjion, Spain. Then and there, I started writing the opening riffs for a song that would become Crystal Planet. , and a few years later, it was the main song for my '98 album, "recalled Satriani. quoted from Blabbermouth, Wednesday, January 13.
He continued, "Fast forward to 2013, friend and fellow guitarist Ned Evett made an animated science fiction video for my song Lies And Truths using artwork from my book Joe's Art (2013). We projected that video on a 30 foot screen every night of the tour. Unstoppable Momentum. It was such a hit with fans that it made us think we could expand the clip into the science fiction epic Crystal Planet. "
Ned and Satriani then formed Satchtoons, a company that focuses on creating animated content. They then worked on scripts and demos for Crystal Planet.
"Seven years later, thanks to Llexi Leon and Heavy Metal, here we are with our first comic book series! Llexi and I have teamed up on her awesome comic Eternal Descent, and by chance we met again when Heavy Metal published the short Crystal excerpt. Planet adapted by Brendon Small for the 2019 music edition of the magazine. Both Ned and I love working with Llexi and the Incendium creative team; they are bringing so much art and craftsmanship to our time travel adventure. I'm so excited to finally offer fans the first complete issue of what which will eventually become a trilogy of three novels. "
