Limited Series Sex Pistols Guitarist Steve Jones 'Madness' Rises The Production Table
JAKARTA - FX will release a six-episode limited series about Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones entitled Pistols. This was announced by Nick Grad, president and original program of FX Entertainment.
Based on Jones' 2018 memoir, Lonely Boy: Tales From A Sex Pistol, Academy Award winning series Danny Boyle - who will also serve as executive producer and director - was created by Craig Pearce and written by Pearce and Frank Cottrell Boyce.
Jones, Boyle and Pearce served as executive producers with Gail Lyon, Anita Camarata, Tracey Seaward, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Wiip. The series is being produced by FX Productions and will go into production on March 7th.
"It is great to be back in business with Danny Boyle, an extraordinary artist who is responsible for so many great feature films and TV series," Grad said as quoted by Blabbermouth, Wednesday, January 13. "Steve Jones is in the middle of a storm rocking the rock establishment and we are delighted that Danny and the rest of the creative team are telling his story as a member of one of the most famous music bands - SEX PISTOLS."
"Sex Pistol changed music forever and Danny Boyle is the perfect director to tell the Steve Jones story that was driven by creativity and destruction," said Paul Lee, CEO of Wiip. "We are very happy to be able to do it with our friends at FX."
