Survey Results Did Not Pass To Parliament In The 2024 Election, Chairman Of The DPP: It Is Normal For PPP To Be Predicted So
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PPP DPP Achmad Baidowi or Awiek responded to the results of the latest survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) which predicts that the Ka'bah Party will not pass the parliamentary threshold (PT) of 4 percent in the 2024 election. According to him, PPP is usually predicted not to qualify for Senayan by various survey institutions. However, Awiek ensured that his party's efforts would not betray the results in the upcoming 2024 election. "Since the history of the survey institute stands, almost every PPP survey does not pass PT. But in fact, in every election, PPP always passes to parliament. That's because PPP wants to participate in elections, does not want to participate in the survey," Awiek told reporters, Monday, March 20.
Even so, Awiek said, PPP still respects every finding of the survey institute. The results of the SMRSC predictions, he said, will be used as evaluation material and to maximize party performance ahead of the 2024 General Election. PPP, said Awiek, will also continue to consolidate to all regions in order to increase the party's vote acquisition.
"Today's PPP political power moves massively starting from a structure, culture and figure approach so that PPP votes in the upcoming elections are maximized. And today, we recruited legislative candidates at all levels, there were many figures who joined and that became a capital for us," he concluded. Previously, the Saiful Mujani Research Center (SMRC) released the results of the survey on the electability level of political parties (political parties) ahead of the 2024 election. PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) was in first place with 23.4 percent. Second, Gerindra with 14.1 percent, the third PKB with 10.3 percent, the fourth Golkar 9.1 percent, the fifth NasDem 7 percent, the sixth Democrat 5.9 percent, and the seventh PKS 5.7 percent, Meanwhile, other parliamentary parties namely PPP and PAN did not reach 4 percent. The two parties are in danger of failing to qualify for Senayan in the 2024 election.
Based on a survey conducted by SMRC, PPP only won 2.4 percent of the vote down from 4.6 percent in the 2019 election. Meanwhile, PAN only won 1.9 percent down from 6.8 percent in the 2019 election.
"PPP and PAN as found from the previous survey are still in the unsecured zone to enter parliament because their votes are below 4 percent," said SMRC Research Director Deni Irvani, in a survey presentation Sunday, March 19. SMRC survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews on March 2-11, 2023. The population of this survey is all Indonesian citizens who have the right to vote in general elections, namely those who are 17 years old or older, or are married when the survey is conducted.
From that population, 1,220 respondents were chosen randomly (strateted multistage random sampling). The response rate (respondents who can be interviewed validly) was 1,061 or 87 percent which was then analyzed. The survey margin of error with the sample size is estimated to be equal to 3.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level (symple random sampling assumption).
